School of Humanities

We currently have around 1600 full-time students and over 80 staff members of which 20 are teachers with the senior title. The six programs offered here are English, translation, business English, Japanese, Chinese and advertising. Among them, the English program is a Leading Specialty of the city, together with the translation program, a provincial Newly Developing Distinctive Specialty. Our foreign languages and literature discipline is listed as a city-level Key Discipline.

In the recent five years, we have successfully applied for five National Social Science Fund projects and more than ten Philosophy and Social Science research projects from the Ministry of Education or the provincial government. Additionally, we have obtained a dozen practical patents and have published ten-plus monographs, translated books and textbooks as well as a total of over 200 papers on national and international journals.

Special importance has constantly been attached to international exchanges. We have established extensive ties with colleges and universities in regions like Hong Kong and Taiwan as well as those from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, South Korea and Japan.
